Martie can be found acting, directing, singing, or otherwise dabbling in theater throughout the greater East Bay. Enjoy the show, and in the words of Prospero, ‘As you from crimes would pardoned be, let your indulgence set me free’.

moreMaggie Deagon
Ariel
Maggie was last seen in last year's production of Hamlet.
She made her Bay Area debut early last year in Alexandra Pink's stage production of the Infinite Play, an experimental game where players engage in (nearly) infinite combinations of dialogue. In addition to theater, she loves cooking, sketching thoughts in her journal, and working at Alameda's Christ Episcopal Church's shower program for our unhoused neighbors. She has made a home with her partner in Alameda over the past year and a half, but her heart is with her mom and community in Altadena, in the greater Los Angeles area, where she was born, raised, and carried through early adulthood.
moreGene Kahane
Caliban and Director of the show
Gene was last seen playing Scrooge in last December's production of the A Christmas Carol.
Gene Kahane founded the foodbankplayers in order to support the vital work of the Alameda Food Bank, give local actors a chance to perform and because the stage in the Healing Garden called out to him one day. He is so deeply moved by everyone who has helped in so many ways: Tara as our first supporter, Scott for his passion and generosity, Luis the actor/web wizard, and all the actors and audiences. We all sing the same song, "What I did for love. "

moreKate Rockwell
Trinculo
Most recently seen as Verges and Friar Francis in last March's production of Much Ado About Nothing.
Kate Rockwell is excited to take the stage for an additional show with the Foodbank Players. After much cajoling from the director, Kate broke her 16 year hiatus from theater to play Guildenstern in Hamlet as the opportunity to be executed on stage by her high school English teacher was too good to pass up. It's rumored her most compelling role to date was singing every part in Les Miserables alone in her car. She's grateful for the opportunity to perform the role of Gentleman 2 (renamed Charity Lady 2 for this production) and draws inspiration from Beaker's classic performance in Muppet Christmas Carol.
